Supra NYC_We Out Here Part 6
From the Supra Camp:
“After enduring two days of rain on our skate parade, the deluge ended and we were finally allowed to hit the streets again. One advantage to getting rained on for two days is that everyone starts really fiending to skate. Most skate tours no one is skating (or even awake, for that matter) before noon, but due to cabin fever, we were out the door early.”
Peep the highlights here.

DQM x Vans General Store_Open!
[DQM is proud to announce the opening of our second store, in partnership with Vans, The VANS DQM General. The store is located in the heart of Soho at 93 Grand Street, in a landmark building and a neighborhood full of history. The General will not only carry on the mindset, respect and authenticity of DQM, but teams it up with the knowledge and values of Vans, to cater to the growing skateboarding and lifestyle community in New York City and beyond.
“Over the past five years, no fewer than 100 people have asked me why we don’t have a store in New York City,” says Doug Palladini, Vans’ Vice President of Marketing. “My answer always was that we had so many great wholesale partners that our own store didn’t make sense, so when Chris from DQM approached us, it was the perfect opportunity. Chris and DQM really understand Vans as well as city culture and history, and know just how to bring our brands together to make something new and relevant for an area like SoHo”.
“Vans has been a huge part of my life in New York both in the world of professional skateboarding – I rode for Vans for a time in the early 90s – and then as a retailer, selling them to my customers every day for the past 8 years,” says Chris Keeffe, founder and owner of DQM. “Vans has this long and storied history coming out of California, but at DQM we felt like the story of what Vans means to people in New York City can still be told through the prism of our Vans experience: we don’t have pools to skate and we have snow on the ground for five months a year. We grew up finding a way to wear Vans that fit the style and climate of our city. I wanted to create a space where we can tell this story from the ground up; a place that’s rooted in our local community and makes sense to New Yorkers.”
The General will carry a curated selection of Vans footwear and apparel for men, women and kids; DQM apparel; and a small collection of DQM for VANS designed apparel and footwear available only at the New York store.
The Vans DQM General officially opens Thursday 9/15 at 93 Grand Street. Hours will be 11 am - 7 pm. Monday - Friday and 11 am - 6 pm Sundays. Ph. 212.226.7776.]

Breaking News: McFly’s Closet Now Open!
1st Pair Sells for $37,500 to “Unknown” buyer that looks a lot like Kanye…
GREAT SCOTT!
The very first pair of the Nike Air Mag — the Marty McFly shoe from “Back to the Future II” was auctioned off in L.A. last night … and the winning bidder dropped $37,500!
The auction — co-hosted by Joel McHale — went down at the Montalban Theater … and after an INTENSE stand-off between two shoe-a-holics … the winner was eventually crowned.
Along with the shoes, the winner also received a “plutonium case” where he can store his “McFly’s”
So far, the identity of the buyer remains a secret … we’re guessing it won’t be for long.
All proceeds from the auction benefit the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
